BJP-PDP alliance should take responsibility for current Kashmir situation: Congress
New Delhi [India], Sept. 9 (ANI): Asserting that it is a fact that the BJP-PDP alliance government won't be able to last long, the Congress Party on Friday urged the coalition government to take responsibility of the current situation in the state. Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge said, "That is the internal matter of the party, and only Mehbooba Mufti can answer that. But we have been saying this since the beginning that this BJP-PDP government won't last long. But, nobody paid heed to our statement. Now, there own people are saying this. And now the state government should own up for the current condition in the state." People Democratic Party (PDP) leader Muzaffar Baig on Thursday said although the people of Jammu and Kashmir trust the BJP-PDP alliance, if the coalition cannot fulfil the agenda on which it was formed, it would be better for them to part ways. Baig said at first, when the two parties formed a government in the state, the alliance did not face any opposition from anyone, and urged both the parties to hold talks once the unrest in the valley is pacified. "We joined hands with the BJP, which is correct, because the people of the nation elected it and so did the people of Jammu. Nobody protested on the day we formed a government, because the people of the state trusted us that we will fulfil all the promises we made and would work according to the proposed agenda. And now, the BJP-PDP alliance must introspect whether we are fulfilling all the promises," said Baig. (ANI)
