New Delhi [India], September 12 (ANI): Delhi Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Atishi hit out at the BJP and alleged that the Centre was not taking any initiative to provide jobs to the youth.
Atishi's remarks came as she announced the launch of the Business Blaster program 2024-25 and said that the state govt will give 40 crore seed money to students.
Atishi said, "Unemployment is the biggest problem today. Youth unemployment has reached 42 per cent today. India ranks third in the world in unemployment. According to a report, if India has to provide jobs to all its educated citizens then till 2030, 90 million non-agricultural jobs are required. BJP is not taking any initiative to provide jobs to the youth. Even for the post of clerk, lakhs of educated youths are applying for it."
The Kejriwal government is making an effort to ensure that when youths complete their education in Delhi, then they become job providers and not job seekers.
"In the last three years in Delhi government schools, the Business Blaster programme is going to ensure that students who complete their education become job providers. Under this initiative, students of 11th and 12th are provided seed money. They form groups and begin start-ups. The top 150 start-ups are open for investment from the public. One of the student start-ups is providing jobs to 20 people. Another start-up is giving jobs to 40 women," she further said.
She further said that this year's 2024-25 Business Blaster program is being launched in Delhi government schools and the state government will give 40 crore seed money to students.
"For this year, 2 lakh 45 thousand students would participate in it. More than 40 thousand ideas are being considered. Some private schools have participated voluntarily," she added.
In an effort aimed at helping youth acquire business skills, then Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia in 2021 launched the 'Business Blasters' program for Delhi government school students of classes 11 and 12. (ANI)
