New Delhi [India], June 7 (ANI): Newly elected Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Members of Parliament (MPs) from Madhya Pradesh attended the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA)'s meeting at the central hall of Parliament on Friday.
The NDA, led by the BJP, held a meeting of its newly elected MPs at the central hall of Parliament on Friday to choose Narendra Modi as their leader ahead of the oath-taking likely on Sunday. He has been elected as Leader of the BJP, Leader of the NDA Parliamentary Party, and Leader of the BJP.

Ahead of the meeting, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav told reporters, "Our government is going to be formed under the leadership of Narendra Modi. Everything will be fine in the meeting today."

BJP MP in the Rajya Sabha from Madhya Pradesh, Balyogi Umesh Nath, told ANI, "All 29 (Lok Sabha) seats in Madhya Pradesh went to the BJP. Top leaders and workers in Madhya Pradesh had taken the pledge to give all 29 'Lotus' to Prime Minister Narendra Modi...This time we won the Chhindwara seat too. Our resolve is now complete. The BJP workers are also happy that the resolution has been completed after a long time."
On BJP falling short of the majority mark and its dependence on NDA allies, he said that such things happen in politics and there is no issue with it.
"All of these go on in politics. There is no issue in it. It is a regular process. It has happened earlier too," Umesh Nath said.
On the party's performance in Ayodhya, he further added, "Our candidate could not win there. It is a matter of pain. Not only the party but the entire country is in pain. But this is politics. Things keep happening. But we will form the government once again and work in the country."
The BJP-led NDA crossed the majority mark bagging 293 seats in the Lok Sabha elections. Nonetheless, the BJP managed to secure only 240 seats, much lower than its 2019 tally.
Earlier on Wednesday, leaders of parties in the NDA held a meeting and elected Narendra Modi as their leader. Modi is likely to take oath as the Prime Minister for the third consecutive time on June 9, according to sources.
According to the results announced by the Election Commission of India on Tuesday, the BJP won 240 seats and along with its allies, it stands at 293 seats. Chandrababu Naidu's TDP and Nitish Kumar's JDU, having won 16 and 12 seats respectively in their respective states, have extended support to the NDA.
The INDIA bloc has 234 MPs in the new parliament with the Congress having won 99 seats. (ANI)
