BJP mocks Samajwadi Party's manifesto, dubs SP-Congress alliance as opportunistic in nature
Mumbai(Maharashtra) [India], Jan. 23 (ANI): Mocking the election manifesto of Samajwadi Party, the Bharatiya Janata Party on Monday said that the manifesto of the Uttar Pradesh ruling party is nothing but lies adding that BJP is going to make promises which it can live up to. "The manifesto of Samajwadi Party is nothing but lies. Repeatedly to promise the people of Uttar Pradesh that there will be progressiveness and transparency and then you have so many leaders feuding with each other. This is a mockery of manifesto and rather than commenting on what they are doing, I can only say that BJP is going to make promises which it can live up to and which it can adhere to," BJP leader Shaina NC told ANI. Describing the alliance between Congress and SP as opportunistic in nature, Shaina further said that the people of Uttar Pradesh will not vote a party that dwells into dividing people. "The alliance between Congress and Samajwadi Party is opportunistic in nature to say the least. However, the people of Uttar Pradesh have decided that they don't want a party that dwells into dividing people. I think the people of UP have decided and firm on their decision that they want a strong and progressive government under the leadership of BJP because this kind of drama and vote bank politics has continued for generations in UP," she added. Samajwadi Party and Congress yesterday firmed up an alliance for next month's high-voltage Uttar Pradesh Assembly polls at a joint press briefing. They vowed to make Akhilesh Yadav the chief minister of the politically crucial state yet again while promising to free the state from communal and divisive forces. The formal announcement of SP-Congress alliance has come after discussions by the two sides over few days before they agreed to 298-105 formula. Meanwhile, Akhilesh Yadav yesterday released the election manifesto for the assembly polls. The poll process in Uttar Pradesh begins on February 11. 73 constituencies in western Uttar Pradesh will go polls in this phase. The filing of nominations for these constituencies will end on January 24. Uttar Pradesh is set to have a seven-phase polling between February 11 and March 8.(ANI)
