Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], June 5 (ANI): Eatala Rajender, who has been elected MP from Malkajgiri, the largest Lok Sabha constituency known as Mini India, having 38 lakh people from diverse backgrounds, said on Wednesday that he now has the responsibility to look after all of them.
"Malkajgiri seat is the largest parliamentary seat in India with 38 lakh voters. It is also called mini India. People from different states and districts are settled here. I am given the responsibility to look after the needs of different sections," he said.
When asked about Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy's statement on PM Modi, he says, "Revanth Reddy is not eligible to speak on PM Modi."
Rajender Eatala has registered a win over Congress candidate Patnam Reddy with 391475 votes.
The ruling Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Telangana shared honours in the Lok Sabha elections, winning eight seats each with the other seat -- Hyderabad -- going to AIMIM. The main Opposition Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS) drew a blank.
Meanwhile, a crucial meeting of the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance was held at Prime Minister Narendra Modi's residence in Delhi on Wednesday.
The meeting was attended by BJP president JP Nadda, BJP leaders Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, BJP's allies including Janata Dal (United) chief Nitish Kumar, Telugu Desam Party (TDP) supremo N Chandrababu Naidu, Shiv Sena chief Eknath Shinde, Janata Dal (Secular) leader HD Kumaraswamy, Janasena Party chief Pawan Kalyan, Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) chief Chirag Paswan, Nationalist Congress Party (Ajit Pawar faction) leader Praful Patel among others.
According to the sources, discussions were held on the government formation by the NDA. According to sources, PM Modi will take the oath for the third time on June 8.
The participation of Naidu and Nitish Kumar in the NDA meeting is a significant step as the support of their parties is crucial for the BJP to form the government. This time, the BJP fell 32 seats short of the majority mark of 272 and will need to rely on its allies to form a government. (ANI)
