Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) [India], Jan. 24 (ANI): With the Congress and Samajwadi Party formally sealing an alliance for the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is making efforts to seal deal with other smaller parties to ensure that it achieves the mandate in the politically crucial state. The BJP-Apna Dal alliance is said to be at its final stage. However, the BJP has offered less number of seats to Apna Dal than demanded by it. Sources said Apna Dal has demanded 16 seats, but the BJP is willing to allot it only 10 seats. The final decision will be taken within two days. Besides Apna Dal, BJP has also allied with the Bharatiya Samaj Party. As per the alliance, Om Prakash Rajbhar-led Bharatiya Samaj Party might contest for eight seats. Uttar Pradesh will have a seven-phase polling between February 11 and March 8. (ANI)
