New Delhi [India], November 9 (ANI): BJP leader Kuljeet Singh Chahal on Saturday took charge as the new Vice Chairman of the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC). On his appointment, Chahal thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and BJP National President JP Nadda for placing their trust in him.

“I thank the world’s most popular leader, the Prime Minister of the country, Narendra Modi. I also thank the respected Home Minister of the country, Amit Shah, the National President of the party, JP Nadda, and the General Secretary of the organization, BL Santosh, for appointing me, a simple worker, to this important position of Vice Chairman of the NDMC,” Chahal said.

He assured the party that he would work towards making the NDMC a world-class organisation. “Just as we worked on issues like regularising employees and addressing cleanliness problems during my tenure as a member, we will work towards making NDMC the most unique, green, and world-class organisation in the coming days,” he added.

Chahal then underlined that he would improve basic services like water supply and citizens' participation. “We have a complete roadmap for the residents' welfare societies (RWS) and the market sessions. We will fulfil Prime Minister Modi’s vision of a developed India. As Prime Minister Modi ji has said, this is a new India, a developed India, and under his leadership, this new NDMC will progress,” he said.

He also highlighted NDMC's success in hosting the G20 summit and its 45 schools. “We will continue to work towards the welfare of our sanitation workers from the Valmiki community and our laundry workers,” he added.

Chahal also spoke about his concerns regarding Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). He slammed Kejriwal for avoiding NDMC meetings and for his focus on "abusive politics." “I said earlier that if there is a government of the biggest liars, it is the Aam Aadmi Party’s government in Delhi, whose former deputy chief minister is on bail,” Chahal said.

He concluded with optimism about the future, stating, “Today is a day of great enthusiasm. Thousands of fellow workers, NDMC employees, and many others have come together with full faith that under the leadership of Narendra Modi, NDMC will also move forward with great strides.” (ANI)
