Jaipur (Rajasthan) [India], February 27 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Kirori Lal Meena took a dig at Congress leader and former Rajasthan Deputy CM Sachin Pilot over his remarks on the East Rajasthan Canal Project (ERCP) MoU.
Kirori Lal Meena said that there were Chief Ministers of two states Rajasthan (Bhajan Lal Sharma) and Madhya Pradesh (Mohan Yadav) along with Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat when the agreement was signed.
"They cannot sign on a blank paper which can mislead people," said Meena.
The BJP leader further lashed out at Sachin Pilot saying that if the leaders wanted to mislead people, they would have done it before elections.
Further clarifying that the MoU is available on the Internet, adding to which, he said, "Everyone can access the agreement there."
On Sunday, Sachin Pilot on his visit to Rajasthan's Dausa accused Bhajan Lal Sharma-led state government of misleading people on ERCP and demanded to clarify on MoU in the Assembly.
He demanded that the MoU must at least be shown to the people and the decisions must be taken keeping in view the interests of the people of Rajasthan.
He further accused BJP leaders of holding ERCP 'Dhanyawad Yatras' but not telling how much water the state will receive.
He also demanded clarity on how much water will be allocated for irrigation and industrial usage.
On Saturday, Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat said that the EERCP would be completed in the next five years.
