"BJP itself a 2G party..." Congress' Pawan Khera hits back at Union HM Amit Shah

Hitting back at Union Home Minister Amit Shah's "2G, 3G, 4G" remarks in Telangana to attack Congress and BRS, the leader of the grand old party Pawan Khera on Monday said that instead, the BJP is 2G party as it is being run by two people only.

New Delhi [India], August 29 (ANI): Hitting back at Union Home Minister Amit Shah's "2G, 3G, 4G" remarks in Telangana, Congress leader Pawan Khera on Monday said that instead, the BJP is 2G party as it is being run by two people only.
Pawan Khera, who is the chairman of Congress' Media and Publicity Department, said that JP Nadda is the national president of the Bharatiya Janata Party yet he doesn't have a role in the party.
"This (BJP) is a 2G party, Modi G and Shah G. JP Nadda is the president of the party, yet he doesn't have a role in the party. The Home Minister is doing campaigning instead of looking after his ministry and the results are for everyone to see whether in Manipur, Haryana or Uttar Pradesh...you can see the results of a weak Home Minister," Khera said.
Earlier on Sunday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, while addressing a gathering in Telangana's Khammam, called Congress a '4G' party and said that the party is run by four generations of a single family and that the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) is a '2G' party.
"Congress party is 4G party which means four generation party, Jawaharlal Nehru, Indira Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi. BRS is a 2G party which means two generation party, KCR and later KTR. But this time neither 2G nor 4G will win because it is time for BJP to come into power in Telangana," Shah had said while addressing the 'Raithu Gosa-BJP Bharosa' rally in Khammam of the poll-bound state.
The remarks drew heavy backlash from the Bharat Rashtra Samithi also, with the Telangana minister Harish Rao Thanneeru on Monday challenging the BJP to get even a single-digit seat in the upcoming Assembly elections in the state.
The Telangana Assembly polls are scheduled at the end of this year. The ruling BRS has released the first list of 115 candidates for the assembly elections.
The state is going to witness a three-pronged contest among the BJP, the BRS and the Congress. The Telangana election will serve as a litmus test for the BJP-led NDA and the INDIA alliance before the crucial 2024 Lok Sabha elections. (ANI)
