New Delhi [India], September 15 (ANI): After Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal showed intent to resign as CM, Delhi Minister Atishi accused BJP of harassing Aam Aadmi Party and said that BJP is afraid of elections as they know people of Delhi will be expressing their anger in their votes.
Notably, in a major move, Arvind Kejriwal said he will resign from the position of Chief Minister after two days and won't sit on the chair of CM, until the public of Delhi declares him "honest."
"For the last two years, BJP has left no stone unturned to harass AAP. Thousands of raids were conducted but they could not present any proof of corruption...," she said.
"BJP is afraid of elections. BJP knows that the people of Delhi are angry about the way false allegations were made against Arvind Kejriwal. That is why the BJP does not want elections because they know that the people of Delhi will express this anger in their votes. If elections are held today, the people of Delhi will not give a single seat to the BJP. 70 out of 70 seats will go to the Aam Aadmi Party....," she added.
Meanwhile, former deputy CM of Delhi, Manish Sisodia, said on Sunday that he will sit on the chair of Deputy Chief Minister-Education Minister only if the public approves his "honesty."
Sisodia further said that he would go to the public court along with Arvind Kejriwal and ask whether the public considers him honest or not.
Praising the Delhi government's work of the past 10 years, Sisodia said that now the students of government schools of Delhi are studying brilliantly and topping exams like IIT, JEE, and NEET.
Earlier, addressing the party workers at the AAP office, CM Arvind Kejriwal said, "I am going to resign from the CM position after two days. I will not sit on the CM chair until the people give their verdict. I will go to every house and street and not sit on the CM chair till I get a verdict from the people. I will not sit on the CM post until the public announces its decision. Elections are after a few months. If you think Kejriwal is honest, then vote for me, I will take over as CM after the elections. If you think I am not, don't vote. Your vote will be a certificate for my honesty, then only I will sit on the post of CM."
Kejriwal was released from Tihar Jail on Friday evening, hours after the Supreme Court granted him bail in a corruption case related to the alleged Delhi Excise Policy scam. (ANI)
