BJP holds first manifesto committee meeting ahead of J-K assembly polls

Jammu (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], August 4 (ANI): Ahead of the upcoming assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir, the Bharatiya Janata Party constituted a manifesto committee on Sunday and held the committee's first meeting.
The Bharatiya Janata Party on Sunday held the first meeting of the manifesto committee for the upcoming assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir.
Speaking after the meeting, Union Minister and J-K election in charge, G Kishan Reddy, said, "The BJP has constituted a manifesto committee. Today, we conducted the first meeting of the manifesto committee. The committee has been constituted to collect the data from the people of J&K and form the manifesto accordingly."
Jammu and Kashmir BJP President, Ravinder Raina said that the BJP's manifesto will be the manifesto of the public.
"Given the upcoming Assembly elections in J&K, a manifesto committee meeting of the BJP was held. The BJP manifesto will be the manifesto of the public and will be a commitment of the BJP to provide solutions to the problems of the public. A detailed vision document will be prepared for the public," Rana said.
Meanwhile, the Election Commission, led by Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar along with Election Commissioners Gyanesh Kumar and SS Sandhu, will visit Jammu and Kashmir from August 8-10 to review the preparedness for the upcoming assembly elections in the Union Territory.
In Srinagar, the Commission will first meet with political parties. They will also hold meetings with the CEO, SPNO, and Central Forces coordinator to review preparations. Additionally, the Commission will review preparations with the Chief Secretary, DGP, District Election Officers, and Superintendents of Police from all districts.
On August 10, the Commission will visit Jammu for a review meeting with enforcement agencies. The Commission will hold a press conference in Jammu to brief the media on the review of election preparations.
The Election Commission of India has indicated that assembly elections will be held in Jammu and Kashmir before September 30, the deadline set by the Supreme Court.
The poll body has asked the Jammu and Kashmir administration to transfer officials posted in their home districts, as well as those connected with the election process who will be completing a three-year tenure on or before September 30. (ANI)
