BJP hints at mass movement, says CPI (M) in Kerala has become 'intolerant'
Thiruvananthapuram/ New Delhi [India], Mar. 5 (ANI): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday alleged that the Communist Party of India (Marxist) in Kerala has become intolerant and announced to organise a mass movement against the recent violence in the state. Kerala BJP chief Kummanan Rajasekhran condemned the attack on four Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and one saffron party worker allegedly by the CPI (M) cadres in Kozhikode. "The party workers are indulging in violence, attacking the officers of the BJP. It has created lawlessness in Kerala thereby the CPM cadres and party workers have taken the law in their hands," BJP state president Kummanan Rajasekhran told ANI. Accusing police of being afraid to take action against the culprits, Rajasekhran said the situation in Kerala is worsening day by day. "Even though the discussions are going on between the CPM and BJP leaders in the presence of the Chief Minister, the situation in Kerala is worsening day by day. The Marxist party workers are attacking the BJP workers in several places, almost in all districts. It is a pitiable condition in Kerala," he said. The state president also told that the BJP has decided to organise mass movement against the violence of CPM, adding all people ready to stand against it are coming together to fight the anti-social and anti-national elements. Resonating similar sentiments, BJP leader Meenakshi Lekhi said the Left has become intolerant. "These frequent attacks have been happening because when the Left is in power, it comes out as the most intolerant and resorts to violence. It is their habit to attack their opposition. I would like to urge those who join them that read the history of the Left and their policies and intentions and see how they have always resorted to use of weapons," she said. The fresh incident comes in the wake of the ongoing tussle between the RSS and the CPI (M) in Kerala, following an attack on a RSS office last Thursday. The office was attacked hours after an RSS functionary announced a bounty of Rs. one crore on Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan's head. (ANI)
