Chhindwara (Madhya Pradesh) [India], November 2 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Ravi Shankar Prasad on Thursday said that during the BJP's rule, Madhya Pradesh turned from a 'Bimaru' state to a 'Viksit' state.
"The BJP, during its rule, has turned Madhya Pradesh from a 'Bimaru' state to a 'Viksit' state... Bhopal and Indore are being made major IT hubs. The people have seen all this... All this can only be provided by a stable BJP government," he told ANI.
While talking to ANI, Ravi Shankar Prasad targeted Rahul Gandhi, saying, First, look at your situation in Chhindwara. Where is your 'Mohabbat Ki Dukan' (shop of love)? You are talking about tearing my kurta, but here your leaders are not even putting up your photo. Your Mohabbat Ki Dukan is failing the most in your party; fix it.
Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia also took a dig at the Congress party saying the 15-month-long Congress rule in the state was a government of 3Cs (cuts, commission and corruption).
Scinda made the remark while talking to reporters in Madhya Pradesh's Dhar district on Thursday evening.
"The 15-month-long Congress government in the state was a government of 3C (cuts, commission and corruption). The public has recognised them well," the union minister said.
Meanwhile, when asked about Jai-Veeru politics, Scindia said that the role of the actors playing the character of Jai-Veeru in the Bollywood movie Sholay was to cheat and steal, so what message does the Congress trying to convey by calling former CMs Jai-Veeru.
"What was the role of Jai-Veeru characters as an actor in the movie Sholay? Their role was to cheat and to steal and general secretary in-charge of Madhya Pradesh for Congress, Randeep Surjewala himself calling former CMs Kamal Nath and Digvijaya Singh as Jai-Veeru. So what message are they (Congress) giving to the public," union minister Scindia said.
Madhya Pradesh is one of the five states set to undergo polls in one phase on November 17 and the counting of votes will take place on December 3. Voters will choose legislators from 230 Assembly constituencies.
Notably, the last state assembly polls in 2018 saw the Congress coming to power, with veteran leader Kamal Nath taking oath as the chief minister.
Nonetheless, a political upheaval rocked the state in 2020, after the then Congressman Jyotiraditya Scindia, along with 22 loyalist MLAs, switched over to the saffron camp.
The Congress government fell after being reduced to a minority and the BJP formed the government, with Shivraj Singh Chouhan returning as chief minister. (ANI)
