New Delhi [India], December 16 (ANI): Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal continued his criticism of Union Home Minister Amit Shah over the law and order situation in the National Capital.
The former Delhi Chief Minister also asserted that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has no agenda for the Delhi Assembly elections, likely to be held in 2025.
"Amit Shah, if you cannot manage Delhi, then say so openly. Our 1.25 crore sisters in Delhi will set everything right... Today, there are two governments in Delhi: one of Kejriwal and one of the Centre. They have made milk, vegetables, pulses, and rice expensive, contributing to inflation. We, on the other hand, are making everything free," Kejriwal said during his padayatra in the Badarpur Assembly constituency.
He also alleged that BJP leaders continually abuse him.
"Now even Rs 2,100 will be credited to your accounts. BJP leaders claim that Kejriwal is wasting money and pampering women, saying it will spoil them. They keep hurling abuses... BJP has no agenda for the elections this time," he said.
Meanwhile, AAP released its fourth and final list of 38 candidates for the 2025 Delhi Assembly elections. According to the list, Kejriwal will contest from New Delhi, Chief Minister Atishi from Kalkaji, Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj from Greater Kailash, and Minister Gopal Rai from Babarpur.
Satyendar Kumar Jain has been fielded from Shakur Basti, Durgesh Pathak from Rajinder Nagar, Ramesh Pehalwan from Kasturba Nagar, Raghuvinder Shokeen from Nangloi Jat, Som Dutt from Sadar Bazar, Imran Hussain from Ballimaran, and Jarnail Singh from Tilak Nagar.
The list includes two new candidates, while the remaining 36 are sitting MLAs who have been re-nominated. AAP has fielded Ramesh Pehalwan from Kasturba Nagar and Pooja Naresh Balyan, wife of Naresh Balyan, from Uttam Nagar.
In a significant development, BJP leader Ramesh Pehalwan and his wife, Kusumlata Ramesh, officially joined the Aam Aadmi Party on Sunday. They were welcomed into the party by Arvind Kejriwal.
The Congress, which ruled Delhi for 15 consecutive years, has struggled in the last two Assembly elections, failing to win a single seat. In the 2020 Assembly elections, AAP secured 62 out of 70 seats, while the BJP won eight. (ANI)
