New Delhi [India], September 17 (ANI): Congress leader Udit Raj has alleged that the BJP was using Shiv Sena MLA Sanjay Gaikwad to make controversial remarks against Rahul Gandhi because they are scared of the Congress leader. Udit Raj also attacked RS MP Ravneet Singh Bittu for his comments against Rahul Gandhi.
Udit Raj's statement comes amid a war of words between the BJP and the Congress over Rahul Gandhi's recent remarks in the US.
"Modi Ji has made him say this. the BJP has made him say this. On the other hand, they are making the defeated MP of Punjab a minister and are getting him to attack Rahul Ji. They are so scared of Rahul Ji. There was a time when they used to take Rahul Ji lightly... slowly the public started understanding, so today they are trembling, they are scared, so they are afraid," he told ANI on Monday.
On Monday, Shiv Sena MLA Sanjay Gaikwad sparked controversy by offering Rs 11 lakh to anyone who cuts off Rahul Gandhi's tongue.
Gaikwad remarked, "The kind of statement made by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has exposed the true face of Congress. During the Lok Sabha elections, they sought votes by spreading lies that the Constitution was in danger, claiming that the BJP would change the Constitution. Today, in America, he said that the reservation system established by Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar would be dismantled. Such words have come from his mouth. Whoever cuts his tongue, I will give them Rs 11 lakh."
Gaikwad was reacting to Congress MP Rahul Gandhi's remarks in the USA, where Gandhi stated that Dalits, Adivasis, and OBC communities still lack representation in the system, adding that India is not a 'fair place'.
"If you look at the Indian government, there are 70 bureaucrats who run the government, secretaries to the Government of India. These are the individuals who make almost all the financial decisions... Out of 70 people, there is one tribal, three Dalits, three OBCs, and a minority. Ninety per cent of India's population has access to less than 10 per cent of the positions that determine how money is spent. When you look at the financial figures, tribals receive 10 paise out of every Rs 100, Dalits get Rs 5, and OBCs a similar amount," the Congress leader said.
The Maharashtra Police have registered an FIR against Shiv Sena MLA from Buldhana, Sanjay Gaikwad, after he made controversial remarks about the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi.
The FIR has been filed against Gaikwad under sections 351(2), 351(4), 192, and 351(3) of the BNS at Buldana City Police Station.
Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aditya Thackeray has condemned Sanjay Gaikwad's remark, saying that it appears there is no Home Minister in the state.
"He has made several such statements, but it looks like there is no Home Minister in the state. We saw the same during the Badlapur incident, where a female journalist covering the event was inappropriately commented on by one of their leaders. Yet, instead of taking action against him, an FIR was filed against the journalist. Similarly, there have been many such incidents in Maharashtra, but it seems there is no Home Minister in the state," Thackeray said. (ANI)
