Rewari (Haryana) [India], October 1 (ANI): Congress leader Supriya Shrinate said on Tuesday that the BJP government in Haryana has cheated the young people, wrestlers and farmers in the last ten years of its rule in the state.
She further said that "history will be created in Haryana this time," as BJP will win only 5 or 7 seats in the Assembly.
"I am confident of a thumping majority in Haryana. Youth, jawans, wrestlers and farmers here were cheated in the 10 years of the BJP regime. I am confident that Haryana will stand with Congress and its guarantees, will stand with Rahul Gandhi and Kharge to have the party make the government," she told ANI
Expressing confidence that the people of Haryana believe in the party's guarantees, she added, "The people of Haryana believe in our guarantees. We are talking about women, jawans, farmers and wrestlers."
"I also suspect that BJP will be stopped at just 5 or 7 seats. Since Rahul Gandhi's yatra has started, the government has been formed in various places with a thumping majority, now it looks like a tsunami is coming. BJP's people themselves are saying that it will be lucky if we get five seats. So I believe that history will be created in Haryana," she said.
Earlier, Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) leader and Haryana MLA Abhay Chautala also expressed confidence in forming the government in the upcoming assembly elections along with its alliance partner Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP).
"In the whole state, now the situation is such that INLD would win 30-35 seats and in the coming days, the situation will involve further that we will form the govt with huge margin, along with Bahujan Samaj Party" he said.
Voting for the 90-member legislative assembly in Haryana will be held on October 5. The votes will be counted on October 8. In the 2019 elections, the BJP emerged as the single-largest party, securing 40 seats, while Congress won 30 seats. (ANI)
