Shimla (Himachal Pradesh) [India], April 2 (ANI): The Congress party hit out at the Bharatiya Janata Party accusing it of destabilising the government in Himachal Pradesh and "misleading" the people ahead of the Lok Sabha elections.
Senior Congress leader and Industry Minister, Harshwardhan Chauhan claimed that the BJP is "daydreaming" and the people will give befitting replies to the six legislators who left the Congress.
He further said that most promises made by the party have been fulfilled in the 15-month tenure of the Congress government.
Exuding confidence, he further said that the party will come out victorious in all four Lok Sabha seats as well as the six by-poll seats.
Addressing a press conference, Chauhan said, "They tried Operation Lotus here as well, they planned it in Rajya Sabha elections, they made unsuccessful efforts to destabilize the government in the state. The BJP has tried to destabilize the government and despite all this, we have a complete majority. Out of 62, we have 34 MLAs. BJP is trying to mislead the people of the state.
"How a government in the majority could be unstable? Jai Ram Thakur is misleading the people of the state, Congress party will win all four parliamentary and six by-elections of the Assembly," the Industry Minister added.
Harshwardhan Chauhan alleged that the state government was able to help the people during the flood and disaster situation, but the Central government did not assist the state.
"During the disaster, the State government was able to overcome the damages, relief was increased, people are appreciating it even the senior BJP leader Shanta Kumar has also appreciated it...BJP is daydreaming and those six former legislators who have left the congress, the people of the state and their constituency will reply to them soon," Chauhan added.
He said despite all its efforts the BJP could not destabilize the state government and will not succeed in it.
"With the recent political developments in the state after the Rajya Sabha elections, it is clear that the opposition party tried to destabilize the government and is coming up with new allegations on a daily basis. During the past 15 months, we have fulfilled all guarantees promised to fulfil the Old Pension Scheme and it was implemented and over 135000 employees are getting benefits of it," he said.
The Himachal Minister added that the development activities carried out by the state government will be the main issue during the upcoming by-election and Lok Sabha elections. (ANI)
