Agartala (Tripura) [India], April 6 (ANI): In a significant show of strength ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, Tripura Chief Minister Prof. Manik Saha on Saturday articulated his confidence in the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) ability to not only secure both seats in Tripura but also to exceed the victory margin of the 2019 elections.
These remarks came during a massive rally in Kanchanpur, under the North District, organised in support of the BJP candidate for East Tripura, Kriti Singh Debbarma.
The rally, marked by enthusiastic participation, underscored the BJP's robust campaign efforts and the widespread public support that the party seems to be enjoying.
Dr. Saha's remarks to the press post-rally were filled with optimism about the BJP's prospects in the upcoming Lok Sabha election. According to him, the public's overwhelming response is a clear indicator of the party's anticipated victory.
Highlighting the unified support for the BJP, Dr Saha mentioned, "The IPFT and Tipra Motha have extended their support to our candidate. Today, we held a rally in Kanchanpur, where we received a tremendous response from the people. They are eager to see Narendra Modi as the Prime Minister of India again."
The rally was not just a display of the BJP's organisational strength but also an affirmation of the strategic alliances and the popular appeal of PM Narendra Modi's governance.
"PM Modi has set a target, and we anticipate surpassing the vote count from the last Lok Sabha elections, as evidenced by the rally. Both candidates will emerge victorious in our state; there is no doubt about it," added Dr. Saha, signalling a bullish outlook for the BJP in Tripura.
The event saw the presence of notable BJP figures, including the party's candidate for East Tripura, Kriti Singh Debbarma, Minister Tinku Roy, and Minister of State Brishaketu Debbarma, among others. Their collective appearance and the messages delivered were geared towards mobilizing support and cementing the party's electoral position in the state.
As the Lok Sabha elections approach, the BJP's campaign in Tripura is evidently gaining momentum, bolstered by strategic political alliances and a positive public reception.
Chief Minister Saha's confident assertion of surpassing previous electoral achievements reflects the party's high stakes and expectations in the electoral battleground of Tripura.
Notably, the upcoming general elections in Tripura are scheduled to be held in two phases. The West Tripura seat will go to the polls on April 19, while the East Tripura seat will witness voting on April 26. The counting of votes will be held on June 4. (ANI)
