"BJD does the work of giving bribes for votes": JP Nadda

Addressing a meeting regarding the Subhadra Yojana here on Wednesday, Nadda said, "This BJD government does the work of giving bribes for votes. An attempt is being made to snatch your right of five years for 54 paise per day. Under the leadership of Modi ji, the BJP has decided to provide cash vouchers worth Rs 50,000 for women in Odisha for the next two years under the Subhadra Yojana. This amount is meant for women, not men so that the woman can decide what to do with this money."

Bhubaneswar (Odisha) [India], May 16 (ANI): Slamming the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) government in Odisha, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National President JP Nadda has alleged that the BJD does the work of giving bribes to the people in the state for votes.
Addressing a public meeting titled 'Subhadra Yojana' in Odisha's Bhubaneswar on Wednesday, Nadda said, "This BJD government does the work of giving bribes for votes.
He emphasized that under PM Modi's leadership, women are being empowered and given strength.
"Modi ji says that if a person is empowered, then he alone is empowered, but if women are empowered, then the whole family is empowered. Modi ji says that we are empowering women, but now we have to go one step further--to empower women. That's why Modi ji has introduced many schemes for women," he said.
"For 27 years, the Nari Shakti Vandan bill was pending in parliament for political reasons. However, Modi ji truly empowered women by passing the bill in just three days. When the Lok Sabha elections in 2029 and the election of Odisha Vidhan Sabha are held, 33 per cent of women will become MPs and MLAs," JP Nadda added.
The BJP chief also highlighted that in the MUDRA Yojana, 70 per cent of beneficiaries are women and 55 per cent of account holders of the Jan Dhan accounts are also women.
"During the lockdown, Modi ji sent Rs 500 per month to the accounts of women for three months through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). Earlier in India, women had to go out of the house to defecate. But Modi ji worked to give respect to women by building more than 12 crore toilets. Earlier, our mothers and sisters had to go out of the house to cut wood to cook, and then they had to cook food while battling the smoke. Today Modi ji worked to make the lives of more than 10 crore women easier by giving them gas cylinders under the Ujjwala scheme," he said.
"Similarly, earlier women had to go far and wide to get water. Today, under the leadership of Modi ji, work was done to provide tap water connections to every house," he added. (ANI)
