Patna (Bihar) [India], January 25 (ANI): Ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's proposed visit to Bihar, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav said on Saturday that elections are approaching in the state and every day someone or the other will come to Bihar.
"Elections are about to be held in Bihar. Every day someone or the other will come to Bihar. These people are not concerned with Bihar's progress and development, they are only concerned with elections. Why has Bihar not been given the status of a special state till now? Why was a special package not given? There will be tall claims till the elections and after that, everything will be forgotten," Yadav said while speaking to the media.
Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan informed on Friday that PM Modi will visit Bihar on February 24 in Bhagalpur for the distribution of Krishi Samman Nidhi.
"Work is being done in each sector for farmers, be it increasing production, decreasing its cost, paying a fair price to the farmers, diversification of agriculture, organic and natural farming... I congratulate the CM of Bihar and the entire agricultural department of Bihar for the work being done for the benefit of farmers here," he said.
"Central government will buy whatever lentils farmer wants to sell a Minimum Support Price... The Prime Minister will arrive in Bihar for the distribution of Krishi Samman Nidhi, expectedly on 24th February in Bhagalpur," Chouhan added.
Meanwhile, Tejashwi Yadav on Friday attacked the Bihar Chief Minister over the Mokama firing incident involving the former MLA Anant Singh.
Speaking to ANI, Yadav said that the CM had become unwary and that crime had become a habit in the state.
"The Chief minister has become unwary. Now 'apradh' (crime) has become a 'aadat' (habit) and 'bhrastachar' (corruption) has become 'shistachar' (decorum). Under the current government, such soul-crushing things have become the norm. The CM is silent over this incident..." Yadav said. (ANI)
