Being harassed by Sasikala, alleges Jayalalithaa's niece
Chennai (Tamil Nadu) [India], Mar.13 (ANI): Late chief minister J. Jayalalithaa's niece Dipa Jayakumar has alleged that she is being threatened by AIADMK general secretary V.K. Sasikala's faction ever since she decided to contest the by-polls from Tamil Nadu's R.K. Nagar constituency. Jayakumar made such allegations after she sat for meditation at Jayalalithaa's memorial and paid homage to the late AIADMK supremo. Referring to Sasikala, Jayakumar said: "Ever since I announced that I am going to contest from R.K. Nagar constituency, I have been receiving different type of threats." She alleged that Sasikala camp, through AIADMK owned channel in the state, has been levelling baseless allegations against a family member of Jayalalithaa. "Ever since I joined politics, Jaya TV group has been levelling baseless allegations against a family member. I strongly condemn them," Jayakumar said. "I am unable to peacefully live in my house, they have unleashed goons after me," she added. Jayakumar had earlier in February announced the founding of MGR Amma Deepa Peravai. She then said that she would contest from R.K. Nagar Assembly constituency that fell vacant following her aunt's death. (ANI)
