"Become so arrogant they think can buy this country": Kejriwal accuses BJP of distributing items to sway voters

New Delhi [India], January 14 (ANI): Aam Aadmi Party Chief Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday accused the BJP of distributing money and goods to sway voters and appealed to the people to not let their vote be sold under any circumstances as it is more precious than "diamonds".
Addressing a press conference, Kejriwal said that it seems like the "Gali-Galoch" party has dropped their weapons now.
"They neither have a vision nor a Chief Ministerial face and now they have stooped to dishonesty. They are openly distributing money. Their party sent Rs 10,000, but their leaders kept Rs 9,000 in their pockets and distributed only Rs 1,000 to the public. In areas where they did not distribute money, the people are angry," Kejriwal claimed.
"It has now come to light that for the past 1-2 days, they have started distributing gold chains and that too only in a few colonies. So, their leaders should explain where the public's money, saris, blankets, and other items have gone. The people are asking them," he added.
He appealed to the people to not vote for these people as they are "traitors" of the country.
"I want to appeal to the people of Delhi to take whatever they are offering but do not let your vote be sold under any circumstances. Our vote is more precious than diamonds. Even if you don't vote for AAP, do not vote for those distributing these things, as they are traitors to the country. They have become so arrogant that they think they can buy this country," Kejriwal said.
"If any AAP candidate is distributing goods or money, do not vote for them. We are not here to win or lose elections; we are here to change the country," the AAP Chief added.
On January 9, the Election Commission of India asked the Chief Electoral Officer of Delhi to inquire about the complaint of the Aam Aadmi Party against Bharatiya Janata Party candidate Parvesh Verm and take "immediate appropriate action" in accordance with the Model Code of Conduct.
AAP had complained against Verma, the BJP candidate from the New Delhi constituency, for allegedly violating the Model Code of Conduct. AAP had also alleged additions and deletions in the electoral roll of the New Delhi Assembly Constituency.
"We pointed out that Parvesh Verma in the New Delhi seat is openly distributing money, and health camps are being held with glasses being distributed. He announced on January 15 that job fairs will be held. All of this falls under corrupt practices according to the Election Commission's rules. Parvesh Verma should be barred from contesting the election," Kejriwal said to the media.
The Delhi assembly polls will be held in a single phase on February 5 and the counting of votes will take place on February 8. (ANI)
