Bathinda Dancer murder: Four booked, main accused on run

Bathinda Dancer murder: Four booked, main accused on run
Bathinda (Punjab) [India], Dec. 4 (ANI): Police on Sunday booked four people in connection with the murder of a "pregnant" dancer at a wedding function at Jashn-e-Punjab Palace banquet hall in Mor Mandi area of Bathinda city in Punjab last night. The incident took place when the accused, identified as Billa, who was dancing along with other youths at the event, allegedly fired a gunshot that purportedly pierced through the body the woman dancer, identified as Kulwinder Kaur. The dancer collapsed on the spot and the dance programme was stopped immediately. The Bathinda Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) told ANI that the accused was under influence of alcohol and a case was registered against four people, including accused, his two friends and the owner of banquet hall. The victim's kin alleged that the youth was prohibited from firing, but they continued and the incident took place. They demanded justice for the victim and stringent action against the accused. Station House Officer (SHO) Daljeet Singh told ANI: "The accused is on the run and we have registered a case under section 302 (punishment for murder) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Police are looking out for him. (ANI)
