Authorities in Kashmir arrange buses for students appearing for CET
Srinagar, July 31 (ANI): As Kashmir remained under curfew on Sunday, authorities arranged buses for thousands of students appearing for Common Entrance Test (CET). Normal life has been paralysed after authorities re-imposed curfew following a shutdown call given by the All-Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC). Sporadic clashes between protesters and security forces have been reported in Kashmir Valley over the killing of Hizbul Mujahideen commander Burhan Wani. "The government provided us with transportation facilities. The buses will drop us to the examination centre and bring us back," said an examinee, Zaid Wani. Deputy Commissioner, Revenue Department, Baramulla, Nasir Ahmad, said all arrangements were made so that the students do not face inconvenience. "We have engaged around 150 buses and 60 Tata Sumos today. We want 100 percent participation of students in the examination. Around 11, 921 students from 10 districts of the valley have participated in the exam. There are 17 exam centres in the city. We have brought the students here and will take them back again in the evening," said Ahmad. Kashmir has been on the boil after security services on July 8 gunned down 22-year-old Burhan Wani. His killing triggered the Valley's worst outbreak of violence in six years. (ANI)
