Attract tourism, improve education and health services: Youngest MLA of Himachal Anuradha Rana

Congress' Anuradha Rana, the youngest MLA of the 14th assembly of Himachal Pradesh from Lahaul and Spiti at the age of 31 vowed to develop the region by attracting tourism, improving education and health services.

Shimla (Himachal Pradesh) [India], June 13 (ANI): Congress' Anuradha Rana, the youngest MLA of the 14th assembly of Himachal Pradesh from Lahaul and Spiti at the age of 31 vowed to develop the region by attracting tourism, improving education and health services.
She was sworn in on Wednesday, the first woman candidate in 52 years to triumph from the Lahaul-Spiti seat.
"The priority is to work for the overall development of my district. We would like to attract tourism to the district, and also improve education and health services," said Rana after the swearing-in ceremony.
"We would like the Central government should ensure the rights of tribals are protected. I am the first tribal woman legislator. This will encourage women to come up in this field. We will work for the upliftment of women," she said.
Anuradha Rana said that she will work for the betterment of the people and district
The by-election in Lahaul and Spiti was conducted after six Congress legislators defected to the BJP earlier this year.
Ravi Thakur, the former Congress MLA from Lahaul and Spiti who contested on a BJP ticket, remained at number three in the election, while BJP rebel Ram Lal Markanda remained at number two. (ANI)
