At least spare 'brother' Mulayam: Amar Singh tells Ram Gopal

New Delhi [India], Oct. 27 (ANI): Taking strong exception to Ram Gopal Yadav's charges that he had "managed" the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) or Supreme Court to secure a clean chit for Samajwadi Party boss Mulayam Singh Yadav in a disproportionate assets case, Rajya Sabha MP Amar Singh on Thursday said even Prime Minister Narendra Modi cannot buy the judiciary, adding the expelled party leader should have at least spared his elder cousin.

"He has alleged that the judiciary and the CBI have been bought.so what is Mulayam Singh saying about this. He should have at least spared his brother. Mulayam Singh did not say that I have managed the judiciary or the CBI. Narendra Modi cannot buy it, Judiciary is such a pillar in the nation which is independent. I believe if Ram Gopal ji would have got the responsibility he would have done the same," he told ANI in an exclusive conversation. The statement by Ram Gopal aimed at questioning the utility of Amar and keeping the focus on the Rajya Sabha MP in the midst of a family feud in the Samajwadi Party. Slamming Mulayam for his remark at a party meeting earlier on Monday that Amar had saved him from going to jail, Ram Gopal said the Rajya Sabha MP had fooled the Samajwadi Party chief into believing that he had actually swung the exoneration in a case of alleged corruption. "The statement (Mulayam's) is nonsensical, he should have thought before making such statement that Amar Singh saved him from court and CBI," Ram Gopal said, adding, "Did he mean that Amar Singh managed CBI or the court?" Recalling events, Ram Gopal said the CBI closed the graft case against Mulayam and family members after it found no evidence to back the allegations, and this in any case had to be okayed by the court.
