Patna (Bihar) [India], October 20 (ANI): Ahead of the Bihar Assembly election, Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLM) National President Upendra Kushwaha on Monday expressed confidence that National Democratic Alliance (NDA) would form the government with a comfortable majority in the state.
The BJP has equated the unity of the NDA alliance to that of the "Pandavas".
Responding to a question that how the five constituents of the NDA alliance would fair in the Bihar polls, Upendra Kushwaha said that the verdict has already been decided.
Speaking to ANI, Upendra Kushwaha said, "As in Mahabharat it was known who will emerge victorious, the same is in the Bihar Elections. The voters will decide the numbers. NDA will form the government with a comfortable majority"
The five constituents of the NDA alliance are BJP, Janata Dal (United), Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLM) and Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM).
Bihar Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Dilip Jaiswal on Monday reaffirmed "rock solid" unity of the NDA alliance like the "Pandavas".
Earlier Upendra Kushwaha on Monday took a jibe at the Rashtriya Janata Dal and said that the oppositon party announced its candidates at the "last moment" and is scared of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA).
The Rashtriya Janata Dal on Monday announced a list of 143 candidates on the last day of filing nominations for second phase of Bihar elections.
Kushwaha stated that the people of Bihar are well aware and would give a befitting reply to the Mahagathbandhan.
"RJD is announcing the list of candidates at the last moment as they are scared of us...The people of Bihar are aware and they will give a befitting reply to them...The entire atmosphere is in favour of the NDA...NDA government will be formed in Bihar," Kushwaha told reporters.
There are some seats where both RJD and Congress have fielded candidates.
In Narkatiaganj, Deepak Yadav (RJD) will face Shaswat Kedar Pandey (Congress); in Kahalgaon, Rajnish Bharti (RJD) will compete against Praveen Singh Kushwaha (Congress); and in Sikandra (SC), Uday Narayan Chaudhary (RJD) will go up against Vinod Chaudhary (Congress) while in Lalganj (Vaishali) Shivani Shukla is likely to go up against Aditya Raja of Congress. However, there is likely to be a compromise between the allies, with one of the parties withdrawing in favour of the other.
The polling will be held in two phases on November 6 and 11 and the results will be announced on November 14.
The Rashtriya Lok Morcha led by Upendra Kushwaha is contesting on six seats under the National Democratic Alliance consisting of Bharatiya Janata Party, Janata Dal (United), Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) and Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular).
The party has named former Member of Legislative Council (MLC) Rameshwar Kumar Mahto as its candidate from the Bajpatti constituency, while Madan Chaudhary will contest from Paru. It has also announced Madhav Anand from Madhubani, Prashant Kumar Pankaj from Ujiarpur, Snehlata from Sasaram and Alok Kumar Singh from Dinara as their candidates in the Bihar assembly elections.
