"As case moves, more layers of truth will be out": Nishikant Dubey slams Mahua Moitra after Delhi HC dismisses her plea

New Delhi [India], March 5 (ANI): After the Delhi High Court on Monday dismissed the plea of Trinamool Congress leader Mahua Moitra, who had sought direction to restrain BJP MP Nishikant Dubey and advocate Jai Anant Dehadrai from making allegations against her related to the 'cash for query' case, the BJP leader said that as the investigation proceeds, more layers of truth will be out in the open.
"Mahua Moitra filed a case on me and Dehadrai. Delhi HC has said very clearly that there was no case at all. Her membership was cancelled after my complaint was proven by the Parliamentary committee," Dubey told ANI.
"She did 50 air travels to benefit businessmen in return for money... She can face up to a 7-year sentence for the FCRA violation... When the case moves ahead more layers of truth will be out in the open... As the investigation increases, the ugly side of Mahua Mitra will reveal," Dubey alleged.
He said if anyone commits theft, it cannot be hidden. "If not today, then tomorrow it will be disclosed," he added.
Dubey said the High Court shocked Mahua Moitra and said as public servants, "we have the right to know and tell everything to the country".
The BJP MP also referred to the Supreme Court verdict on Monday which held that "corruption and bribery by members of the legislatures erode probity in public life" while overturning a previous ruling that offered immunity to lawmakers from charges of accepting bribes for casting votes or making speeches in Parliament or state legislatures.
The Supreme Court's seven-judge Constitution Bench overruled the 1998 PV Narasimha Rao judgment case, which granted immunity to members of Parliament and members of the legislative assembly from prosecution for taking bribes for voting in Parliament or state assemblies.
The plea filed by the TMC MP sought interim relief from the court and urged it to restrain the BJP MP and Advocate Dehadrai from making, posting, publishing, uploading, or distributing any content that states that she accepted bribes from businessman Darshan Hiranandani to ask questions in Parliament.
Earlier on February 23, the Delhi High Court dismissed the plea moved by Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Mahua Moitra seeking to restrain the Enforcement Directorate (ED) from leaking any "confidential or unverified information" to the media concerning the investigation against her under the Foreign Exchange Management Act, 1999 (FEMA).
The bench of Justice Subramonium Prasad also said, "There is nothing in the news articles that would have the effect of invading into the privacy of the petitioner (Mahua Moitra) or tend to impair the impartiality of the investigation or that it can have the effect of prejudicing the trial of the Petitioner in the event it is initiated.
"Mahua Moitra had moved Delhi High Court to seek direction to restrain ED and 19 media houses from leaking, broadcasting and disseminating any "confidential or unverified information" in relation to ED's investigation against her regarding proceedings under FEMA.
Mahua Moitra was expelled as a Lok Sabha Member of Parliament (MP) on December 8 following the Ethics Panel's report following Dubey's complaint.
She has denied any wrongdoing and claimed she was being targeted as she raised questions about the deals of the Adani Group. (ANI)
