As always, Congress is standing in favour of the corrupt: BJP on Tejashwi Yadav
Patna (Bihar) [India], July 11 (ANI): Amid controversies surrounding Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav's family, and his son and Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday accused the Congress of supporting and standing in favour of the corrupt. "The Congress has supported the RJD. As always, the Congress is supporting and standing in the favour of the corrupt," BJP leader Sushil Modi told the media here. Talking to ANI, Sushil Modi said the party had expectations from Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar that he would dismiss Tejashwi from his post. "We had expectations from Nitish Kumar that he would dismiss Tejashwi from his post. The RJD's stand is clear; whole party is standing with Tejashwi Yadav. They are saying that it is done with the motive of revenge. Nitish has given him an ultimatum. If he has given a time of four-five days, we will wait for that. Whole Bihar knows Lalu Yadav doesn't have any answer for this. We will take this matter to the people of Bihar and will tell them about the corruption of this government," he added. Sushil Modi further pressed for hope on getting information on Tejashwi's actual link to the alleged corruption case registered against him by the CBI. "Hope that the person who has been alleged (of corruption) will release the facts in the public domain," he added. Earlier on Friday, the CBI registered a corruption case against Lalu Yadav, his wife Rabri Devi, son Tejaswi Yadav; former Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) Managing Director P.K. Goyal; and the wife of Lalu's confidante Prem Chand Gupta, Sujata on allegations of awarding the tender for development, maintenance and operation of hotels in Ranchi and Puri in 2006. The CBI later questioned Rabri Devi and Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav. The case was registered on the allegations of awarding the tender for development, maintenance and operation of Hotels at Ranchi and Puri to a Private Company dealing with Hotels in the year 2006. The investigative agency also conducted searches at 12 locations across Patna, Delhi, Gurugram and other places. The RJD supremo, however, refuted the allegations against him and called it a political conspiracy hatched by the BJP. Misa Bharti, Lalu Yadav's daughter's premises were also raided. While conducting raids at Misa Bharti's premises yesterday, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) recovered and seized various incriminating documents, electronic devices including mobile phones. (ANI)
