Arvind Kejriwal wants to incite "religious conflict" ahead of polls: Delhi BJP chief Virendraa Sachdeva

"Arvind Kejriwal wants to incite religious conflict in Delhi. He has written a letter to the Election Commission, in which he requested to cut the vote of 44 people from the Valmiki Temple, situated in Gol Market. Why? Because these people are Dalits," Sachdeva told ANI.

New Delhi [India], January 12 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Party Delhi chief Virendraa Sachdeva accused the Aam Admi Party national convenor Arvind Kejriwal of trying to incite "religious conflict" in the national capital ahead of the Delhi assembly elections.
The BJP chief alleged that Arvind Kejriwal wrote a letter to the Election Commission requesting to 'delete' the votes of Dalit voters near Valmiki Temple in Gol Market area.
"Earlier, Arvind Kejriwal abused the people from Purvanchal, now he is attacking the Valmiki temple. There is a Mazar near the Valmiki Temple, there are 60 voters and none of them live near that area. But he will not request to cut their votes. He will request to cut the votes of Hindu Dalits...He wants to do the caste politics...He wants to affect the Delhi elections through this," he added.
BJP candidate from Patel Nagar assembly seat, Raaj Kumar Anand, also attacked Kejriwal and claimed that the former CM might contest from one more seat.
"Arvind Kejriwal has lost his temper. The sources have said that he can contest from some other seat also. This has also made it clear that now his temporary Chief Minister Atishi is also losing...BJP is a party of workers and organisation... If Arvind Kejriwal himself loses the election, then how will he become the Chief Minister?" Anand told ANI.
BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh also slammed Kejriwal, saying the former CM is the "kingpin" of the alleged liquor scam, adding that the people of Delhi will never "forgive him".
"AAP and Arvind Kejriwal have looted the people of Delhi in every possible way. Arvind Kejriwal is the real kingpin of the liquor scam. He came with a promise of building schools in Delhi but built only liquor shops. During the covid times when people were suffering, he was using the people's money to build his 'Sheesh Mahal'...The people will never forgive him," Chugh told ANI.
The BJP has sharply criticised the AAP-led government, alleging widespread corruption, inefficiency in implementing welfare schemes, and a failure to address the growing pollution levels in the city.
The BJP has even gone as far as calling AAP's governance a threat to Delhi, drawing a parallel to "AAPda" -- a term they say reflects the disruptive impact on the capital under the AAP rule.
On the other hand, AAP has hit back at the BJP labelling it as the "Galli Galoch party" and accusing it of "dishonest tactics' and "electoral fraud".
The Delhi assembly polls will be held in a single phase on February 5 and the counting of votes will take place on February 8.
The last date for filing nominations is January 17. The date for scrutiny of nominations is January 18. While last date for withdrawal of candidature is January 20.
The Congress, which was in power for 15 consecutive years in Delhi, has suffered setbacks in the last two assembly elections and has failed to win any seat. In contrast, the AAP dominated the 2020 assembly elections by winning 62 out of 70 seats while the BJP got only eight seats. (ANI)
