Arunachal Pradesh: BJP appoints Ravi Shankar Prasad, Tarun Chugh as central observers

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Parliamentary Board has appointed party leaders Ravi Shankar Prasad and Tarun Chugh as central observers for the election of the leader of BJP Legislature Party in Arunachal Pradesh.

Itanagar (Arunachal Pradesh) [India], June 12 (ANI): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Parliamentary Board has appointed party leaders Ravi Shankar Prasad and Tarun Chugh as central observers for the election of the leader of BJP Legislature Party in Arunachal Pradesh.
Arunachal Pradesh BJP president Biyuram Wahge told ANI over the phone that, the two central observers will arrive in Itanagar on Wednesday and will hold a meeting with the newly elected BJP legislators and come to a consensus before announcing the name of the new Chief Minister.
Taking to its official X handle, the BJP posted, "The Parliamentary Board of the Bharatiya Janata Party for the election of the leader of the party legislature in Arunachal Pradesh has appointed MP Ravi Shankar Prasad and National General Secretary Tarun Chugh as the Central Supervisors."
On the other hand, another senior BJP leader of Arunachal Pradesh said that the swearing-in ceremony of the new Chief Minister and his Council of Ministers would likely be held on Thursday.
Pema Khandu-led BJP in Arunachal Pradesh won the assembly polls by securing a landslide victory by winning 46 seats in the 60-member assembly.
National People's Party won five seats, Nationalist Congress Party won three seats, two seats were won by the People's Party of Arunachal, one by Congress and three by the Independent in the recently concluded assembly polls in the state.
The Bharatiya Janata Party-led NDA secured 293 seats in the Lok Sabha elections. BJP won 240 seats on its own. In the 543-strong lower house of the Indian parliament, 272 is the minimum majority figure.
The Congress, on the other hand, won 99 seats. The INDIA bloc crossed the 230 mark. (ANI)
