"Arrogance of power-drunk Punjab CM going out of control": LoP Bajwa on arrest of former Congress MLA

Chandigarh (Punjab) [India], October 17 (ANI): Terming the arrest of former Congress MLA Kulbir Singh Zira as vendetta politics' by the Aam Admi Party-led Punjab government, the Leader of Opposition in the Punjab Assembly Partap Singh Bajwa on Tuesday said that the arrogance of the power-drunk Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is going out of control.
In a post on X (former Twitter), Partap Singh Bajwa said, "The arrogance of power-drunk Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann is going out of control now. After the illegal arrest of the fearless Congress MLA Sukhpal Khaira, the AAP Punjab government has arrested the former Congress MLA Kulbir Singh Zira without following the due legal course."
"The Punjab Congress will not tolerate this and will fight tooth and nail against the vendetta politics of the AAP government," he added.
Hours after former Congress MLA Kulbir Singh Zira was arrested by police, his supporters staged a protest and sat on strike outside the Central Jail in Firozpur on Tuesday against his arrest.
The supporters of the former Congress MLA were seen with placards, raising slogans outside the Central Jail in Firozpur.
Zira was arrested by police on Tuesday morning from his residence in Zira in the Firozpur district for allegedly obstructing officials from performing their official duties. The former MLA has been sent to custody till October 30.
Zira along with his supporters was booked by the police a few days back for disrupting government officials from performing their duties. (ANI)
