Gopalganj (Bihar) [India], August 21 (ANI): Former Bihar Chief Minister and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) patriarch, Lalu Prasad Yadav on Monday said that around 18-19 like-minded parties which believe in democracy have come together and formed the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA).
Lalu Yadav arrived at Gopalganj Circuit house on Monday with his wife Rabri Devi.
"Around 18-19 like-minded parties who believe in democracy have come together. Meetings have been conducted from Patna to Bengaluru and we have decided to name the alliance as 'INDIA'," he said while talking to the reporters.
The RJD patriarch also said that they will have another meeting in Mumbai on August 30 0r 31, to decide further plans.
"We will have another meeting in Mumbai, Maharashtra on August 30 or 31, where all the parties will decide what has to be done next," he added.
The Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) is an opposition alliance of 26 parties formed recently to take on the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) led by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the 2024 General Elections.
The first meeting of the joint opposition convened in Bihar’s Patna on June 23 and the second meeting was held in Karnataka’s Bengaluru on July 17-18. The third meeting is slated to be in Maharashtra's Mumbai on August 31-September 1. (ANI)
