Army prepared to deal with any type of misadventure: Chinar Corps Commander
Boniyar (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], Oct 18 (ANI): Srinagar-based Chinar Corps Commander Lieutenant General Satish Dua on Tuesday said the Indian Army's preparedness is of the highest degree on the Line of Control (LoC), adding it is ready to deal with any type of misadventure from across the border. Speaking at an inaugural event of the Chinar Naujawan Club here, Lieutenant General Dua said: "The Indian Army is prepared to deal with any misadventure from across the Line of Control, whether it is by the regulars or otherwise." Responding to a poser on the increasing ceasefire violations, he said the infiltration bids increase every summer. "In the recent past, we have seen there has been some desperation from across the border because several infiltration attempts have been made and as you are aware in the last couple of month we have foiled them and neutralised many terrorists," he added. Talking about the tension between the Indian Army and Kashmiri youth, Lieutenant General Dua said, "I do not agree with the fact that there is a trust deficit between the youth of the state and the army because several places where the army has gone and operated in the recent past, we haven't had problem with the youth at all." Lieutenant General Dua, who was here to inaugurate yet another Chinar Naujawan Club, further said our intentions are to put together 66 more such clubs of which 45 have been completed. "The purpose of Chinar Naujawan Club here is to give the youth, the children a secure environment where they can come and interact with each other, play. The broader idea is to engage with the youth, give them skills and jobs if possible. This is also an initiative to bring the misguided youth into the mainstream," he said. (ANI)
