Army Officer Fayyaz cremated with full military honours

Jammu and Kashmir [India], May 10 (ANI): Young Indian Army officer Lt. Ummer Fayyaz who was abducted and killed by terrorists, was cremated with full military honours in Sursun, Pulwama, Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday.

Jammu and Kashmir [India], May 10 (ANI): Young Indian Army officer Lt. Ummer Fayyaz who was abducted and killed by terrorists, was cremated with full military honours in Sursun, Pulwama, Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday. The body of the young officer draped in the tricolour. "He was part of the Hockey Team at NDA, an excellent volleyball player and physically tough. The troops enjoyed being with him," the army said. Lt. Fayaz was commissioned on 10th December 2016 from the National Defence Academy and was set to head for the Young Officers Course in September this year. The police said the officer was shot by terrorists five times in an orchard. His body was found in the Harman orchard by locals. (ANI)
