Apollo Hospital slams rumours of 'Jayalalithaa being taken abroad', says she is recovering

Chennai (Tamil Nadu) [India], Sept. 25 (ANI): Rejecting "rumours and conjectures" circulated in the social media about Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa's health condition that "she would be taken abroad for treatment", Apollo Hospital at Greams road here on Sunday said these are "totally false and baseless", while adding that "there is no question of taking her abroad for treatment, as there is no necessity at all for this".

Chennai (Tamil Nadu) [India], Sept. 25 (ANI): Rejecting "rumours and conjectures" circulated in the social media about Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa's health condition that "she would be taken abroad for treatment", Apollo Hospital at Greams road here on Sunday said these are "totally false and baseless", while adding that "there is no question of taking her abroad for treatment, as there is no necessity at all for this". "The Chief Minister is responding well to the treatment and continues to get better. As part of the ongoing recuperation, she has been advised few more days of rest and she will be discharged from the hospital in a few days and will soon resume her normal official duties," said a statement issued by the hospital. The hospital further said, when the Chief Minister was admitted in the late hours of September 22 she had fever and dehydration. "Treatment was commenced immediately and by the very next day, i.e. September 23 fever was brought under control. The Chief Minister resumed regular diet and she is under observation since then," said the statement. "Necessary medications are being administered as required. As per standard medical protocol, necessary investigations and tests are being done to prevent recurrence of fever and she is continuing on normal diet," it added. (ANI)
