AP CEO issues 89 notices for violation of Model Code of Conduct on social media

Amaravati (Andhra Pradesh) [India], Mar 19 (ANI): Andhra Pradesh Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Gopal Krishna Dwivedi on Tuesday said that 89 notices have been issued for the violation of Model Code of Conduct on social media so far.
Out of 89 notices, 48 notices have been served to TDP, 30 to YSRCP and 11 to JSP. He said that it is for the first time that social media is being observed for the violation of the Model Code of Conduct.
Dwivedi said state-wide searches are being conducted. "There are 3,635 C-VIGIL teams functioning in all 175 Lok Sabha constituencies in the state. Till now, 1,304 complaints have been recorded through C-VIGIL, and all of these except 22 have been resolved," he said.
He also informed that since March 10, the police have registered 220 FIRs and have seized cash Rs 239,89,135, gold 8 kg, silver 22 kg, 1,043 liquor bottles, two vehicles, 33 kg ganja, and 324 sarees
The CEO told media persons that nominations will be received on March 21 as there is no holiday on that day. However, nominations will not be accepted on March 23 and 24. (ANI)
