"Anjuman Intezamia committee misled SC...": Advocate Vishnu Shankar Jain on Gyanvapi survey case

"Supreme Court has put a stay on the order of the District Court on survey of the Mosque complex and has asked the Allahabad Court to decide the matter afresh. We will keep our argument in at Allahabad HC. The Muslim side, Anjuman Intezamia misled the SC and said that digging has started there, which is not true," he told ANI.

New Delhi [India], July 24 (ANI): Representing the Hindu side in the Gyanvapi mosque case Advocate Vishnu Shankar Jain on Monday said that the Anjuman Intezamia Masjid committee misled the Supreme Court on the survey being conducted by the Archaeological Survey of India at Gyanvapi mosque in Varanasi.
Advocate Jain said that Anjuman Intezamia Masjid committee submitted to the apex court that digging has started at the Mosque complex which is not true.
The Supreme Court on Monday ordered that Varanasi district court order of the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) survey of the Gyanvapi mosque complex, adjacent to Kashi Vishwanath temples, shall not be enforced till 5 pm of July 26 while hearing the matter after a Special Leave Petition (SLP) was filed by Anjuman Intezamia Masajid (AIM) in the apex court seeking an urgent hearing in the Gyanvapi mosque survey case.
A bench headed by Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud says that the mosque committee shall move the Allahabad High Court with its plea against the district court’s order.
Earlier today Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) team reached the Gyanvapi Mosque in Uttar Pradesh's Varanasi to conduct a scientific survey of the mosque complex, adjacent to Kashi Vishwanath temple.
Advocate Subhash Nandan Chaturvedi representing the Hindu side said that the result of the survey will be favourable to Hindus.
"We are sure that the whole premise is of the temple only. The result of the survey will be favourable to us," he said.
Meanwhile, a caveat petition was filed by Hindu petitioner Rakhi Singh in the Allahabad High Court on Saturday based on the order of Varanasi Court dated July 21 which gave directions to conduct an Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) survey.
The caveat petition has been filed through advocate Saurabh Tiwari through e-filing mode.
Rakhi Singh, who is also the main petitioner in the “Shringar Gauri Sthal” case is in support of the ASI survey at the Gyanvapi mosque complex. A caveat was filed by her so that if the Anjuman Intezamia Masjid Committee goes to the Allahbad High Court against the decision of the District Judge, the High Court should not give its decision without hearing the petitioner.
"It is therefore, most respectfully prayed that this Hon'ble Court may graciously be pleased to allow the application and may provide the opportunity of hearing before passing any order in favour of proposed revisionists and/or pass such other and further order," the caveat read. (ANI)
