New Delhi [India], November 20 (ANI): Jharkhand BJP President Babulal Marandi on Monday hit out at Aam Admi party supremo Arvind Kejriwal and said that there is hardly any politician in the country who speaks lies as much as Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal does.
Responding to the question on air quality in the national capital and the appearance of toxic foam in Yamuna, Marandi targeted the Delhi Chief Minister for not being able to clean the Yamuna River for the Chatth puja.
"He could have cleared Yamuna. Earlier he used to talk about big things and made big promises but now he is busy looting people. But now these days he is involved in scams. He used to say that he would live in an ordinary residence, and travel like common people but the reality is different," he said.
Earlier a layer of toxic foam was seen floating on the surface of the river in the national capital on Saturday.
Former Jharkhand Chief Minister said that Arvind Kejriwal always talks about honest and clean politics but it is not reflected in their work.
"Government led by Arvind Kejriwal always talks about honesty and clean politics but it is not reflected in their work. With the amount of lies Kejriwal speaks hardly any politician tells lies this much. Whatever little work they do, they market it really well. Delhi is a very small state. A tiny state like this can be covered in our morning walks," Marandi said.
"I have heard about the cost of residence in New Delhi. At the same cost, in Jharkhand, we could have inhabited two to three villages," he added.
Emphasising on the need to respect the summons sent by Central agencies especially those sitting on constitutional posts, Marandi said, "If ED summons then they should go. There should be no difference between common people and those sitting on constitutional posts. ED should think about it as to what action can be taken if someone skips their calls."
Earlier Kejriwal skipped the Enforcement Directorate's summon earlier this month in the liquor policy scam and went to attend a roadshow in Madhya Pradesh for the Assembly election campaigning.
The Delhi CM had demanded the ED to withdraw its "vague and motivated" notice summoning him for questioning, claiming that it was "illegal and politically motivated".
Meanwhile, ED has also issued summons to Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren in an alleged land scam case.
Soren was summoned earlier by the central agency in mid-August. However, the CM did not answer the summons then, citing his preoccupation with the Independence Day celebrations in the state.
He was asked to appear before the central agency again on August 24 and September 9 but ignored both the summons.
Soren had filed a petition in the Supreme Court challenging the summonses issued against him, saying that the case against him was a clear case of "abuse of law" by the Centre.
He also alleged misuse of the central agencies to destabilise a "democratically-elected government" in Jharkhand. (ANI)
