Ahmedabad (Gujarat) [India], Feb 12 (ANI): BJP President Amit Shah on Tuesday attacked the grand alliance of opposition parties by calling them an 'uneven match' and dared them to reveal the name of their leader.
“Opposition parties are trying to forge an uneven alliance. I demand the parties of grand alliance to make it clear as to who their leader is? Who is going to be their candidate for top post? We are clear about the world’s most admired leader Narendra Modi being our leader,” Shah said while addressing party workers after flagging off the Mera Parivar Bhajapa Parivar campaign in Ahmedabad.
Outlining benefits provided to citizens as part of government schemes, he said, “As many as 22 crore families have been benefited by different schemes of Bharatiya Janata Party-led central and state governments. As many as 6 crore families have been provided with LPG cylinder. 2.5 crore people will get a house under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. Electric connections have been provided to 2.5 crore households. Toilets have been constructed for 8 crore families. As many as 50 crore families are going to benefit by health insurance Ayushman Bharat.”
Sharing details of different outreach programmes of BJP, Shah said, “After 70 years of independence, the poor, underprivileged, OBC, Dalit, farmers, youth, etc have been supported by the government in their efforts to make their lives better."
He added, "All these people will light 'Kamal Jyoti' at their houses to reinstate their faith in Prime Minister Narendra Modi. On March 3, over 3 crore motorcycles will campaign in every Vidhan Sabha constituency across the country for Vijay Sankalp rally.”
Reacting sharply to Congress president Rahul Gandhi’s criticism about direct transfer scheme for farmers, Shah said: “Rahul Gandhi doesn’t even have the patience of studying the scheme. When they had waived loan in UPA-1, Rs 53,000 crore loan amount of 3 crore farmers was waived off. Whereas, the 6,000 rupees yearly assistance to farmers, being given by the NDA government, will benefit 15 crore farmers. First Rahul should know the difference between Kharif and Rabi crop before talking about farmers.”
Earlier on Saturday, Shah had quipped that if the “Mahagathbandhan” (grand alliance) forms government at the Centre, there would be a different Prime Minister every day in a week and the country would run without a Prime Minister at the end of the week, on Sunday. (ANI)
