Union Minister and BJP leader Prakash Javadekar held a press conference in Jaipur.

Jaipur (Rajasthan) [India], May 14 (ANI): Union minister and senior BJP leader Prakash Javadekar on Tuesday sought the resignation of Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot, accusing him of deliberately taking no action in the Alwar gang-rape case for electoral gains.
"On whose behest action was delayed for six days? Taking no action in such a horrific case, for the sake of electoral gains, is the biggest crime. I ask Congress president Rahul Gandhi to take resignation from Gehlot forthwith," said Javadekar.
Charging the state government of taking no action, Javadekar said, "The victim met SP Alwar on May 30 but no FIR was registered till May 2nd. Action was only taken after the conclusion of elections on May 6."
Directly holding CM Gehlot, who is also the Home Minister of the state, responsible for the delay Javadekar said that the Home Minister could not have been unaware when the SP knew about the crime.
Further accusing the state government of not taking strict action against the culprit police officials, Javadekar said, "All the culprit officials have been transferred barring one who has been suspended. We demand harsher action against the culprit officials."
A Dalit woman was allegedly gang-raped by five men while her husband was beaten up in Thanagaji area of Alwar district in Rajasthan on April 26.
The woman and her husband were going from village Lalwadi to Taalvraksh on a bike, when about five men aged between 20-25 years, stopped them and took the couple to a deserted place.
The husband was allegedly assaulted and tied up while the woman was gangraped. The culprits, reportedly, also threatened the couple not to report the matter to the police or they will make the video public.
The accused also demanded money from the couple which was given to them but later when they again demanded money, the couple reported the matter to police. (ANI)
