"Allies of Modi govt are saying this": Congress cites JD(U) MP's claims on Railways to target NDA

On Wednesday, JD(U) MP replied to Union Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw in the Lok Sabha and said, "Bihar has played a very important role in bringing the NDA government. In 11 years, will the railway minister please tell whether he has started any train from Patna to Delhi, Patna to Bangalore or Delhi? No new train has been provided to Bihar by the railway minister."

New Delhi [India], July 24 (ANI): The Congress party on Thursday accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of "not giving a train to Bihar in the last 11 years," citing the same claim made by Janata Dal (United) MP Giridhari Yadav in the Lok Sabha.
On Wednesday, the JD(U) MP replied to Union Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw in the Lok Sabha and said, "Bihar has played a very important role in bringing the NDA government. In 11 years, will the railway minister please tell whether he has started any train from Patna to Delhi, Patna to Bangalore or Delhi? No new train has been provided to Bihar by the railway minister."
Citing this, the Congress posted on X and said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has always treated Bihar "unfairly."
"The Modi government has not given Bihar a single new train in 11 years. - This issue was raised in Parliament by Girdhari Yadav, an MP from Nitish Kumar's party, JD(U). Narendra Modi has always treated Bihar unfairly, and now even the allies of the Modi government are saying this in Parliament," the Congress posted on X on Wednesday.
The JD(U) MP's comments were made during the Question Hour of the Lok Sabha on Wednesday, where he took a jibe at Union Minister for Railways, Ashwini Vaishnaw, who had told the house about the work done for the expected Sitamarhi-Sheohar new railway line.
The railway minister was responding to a question by another JD(U) MP, Lovely Anand, who had inquired about the railway projects in Bihar, specifically the Sitamarhi-Sheohar new rail line, which is approximately 28 kilometres long, among other infrastructure projects.
Earlier on Wednesday, JD(U)'s Giridhari Yadav also criticised the Election Commission (EC) for conducting its Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in the poll-bound state. He alleged that the exercise is being done forcefully and that the poll panel has "no practical knowledge of Bihar."
Speaking to reporters outside the Parliament, Yadav said, "Election Commission has no practical knowledge. It neither knows the history nor the geography of Bihar. It took 10 days for me to collect all the documents. My son stays in America. How will he do the signatures in just a month? This (SIR) has been imposed on us forcefully. At least 6 months' time should have been given for this." (ANI)
