All our schemes successful; that's why we are saying '75 paar': Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel

Raipur (Chhattisgarh) [India], October 21 (ANI): Expressing confidence ahead of the Chhattisgarh assembly polls, CM Bhupesh Baghel on Friday stated that he expects to secure more than 75 seats to form the government in the state.
"When we were in the opposition, the government was doing the wrong things, and we fought for farmers, labourers, youth, and women. After coming to power, we created successful schemes for them, and the people are satisfied with them. That's why we're saying '75 paar'," Baghel said while speaking to ANI.
The ruling Congress party in the state has fielded CM Baghel from Patan and Deputy Chief Minister TS Singh Deo from Ambikapur to contest the upcoming assembly elections.
Similarly, the party has fielded Girish Devangan in Rajnandgaon, where he will contest BJP leader and former state chief minister Raman Singh. Taradhwaj Sahu is contesting the polls from Durg (Rural), Ravindra Choubey from Nawagarh, Yashoda Verma from Khairagarh, Vikram Mandavi from Bijapur, Lakheshwar Baghel from Bastar, Deepak Baiji from Chitrakot, and K. Chavindra Karma from Dantewada.
The Election Commission has announced that the first phase of polling for 20 seats in Chhattisgarh will be held on November 7, with the remaining 70 seats in Chhattisgarh going to polls on November 17.
The election dates are as follows: Mizoram on November 7, Chhattisgarh on November 7 and November 17, Madhya Pradesh on November 17, Rajasthan on November 25, and Telangana on November 30.
The counting of votes will take place on December 3 in all the states. Of the five states, polling in Chhattisgarh will be held in two phases.
The Model Code of Conduct has come into force with the announcement of poll dates. These elections are crucial as they are taking place months before the Lok Sabha elections scheduled for April-May next year. (ANI)
