Kodarma (Jharkhand) [India], November 5 (ANI): Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday criticised the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), drawing a comparison to Mughal emperor Aurangzeb, who he said looted the country while asserting that JMM Minister Alamgir has similarly looted the state.
Addressing a public rally today, CM Yogi stated that large sums of money, allegedly belonging to the people of Jharkhand, were found at the residence of a JMM Minister.
"For the country's independence, not one but four individuals from Koderma sacrificed their lives to free the nation from British rule. But look at what is happening in Jharkhand today... Aurangzeb plundered the country and desecrated its temples, and now there's a minister from Jharkhand Mukti Morcha, Alamgir, who has looted here as well. Bundles of money -- money that belongs to Jharkhand's poor -- were found in his homes. Such blatant plundering is unseen elsewhere. This election is an opportunity to respond to those who have deceived you in the name of development," he said.
"The manner in which infiltration from Bangladesh is being facilitated in Jharkhand will, if left unchecked, lead to significant demographic changes. Today, they are stopping religious processions, and tomorrow, they may even prevent the ringing of bells and conches in homes. That's why it's essential to elect the BJP and support the motto 'Ek rahiye aur Nek rahiye'," CM Yogi added.
Earlier today, Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh also criticised the Hemant Soren-led Jharkhand government, accusing it of corruption and likening the BJP and its NDA allies to "powerful rockets" capable of propelling Jharkhand towards swift development.
Singh addressed two public meetings in Ranchi and Lohardaga districts to bolster BJP's campaign for the assembly elections.
"Whether it's JMM, Congress, or RJD, all these political parties are like Diwali's spent firecrackers. In contrast, the Bharatiya Janata Party and NDA allies are like powerful rockets ready to launch Jharkhand towards progress," he said.
The 81-member Jharkhand Assembly will hold elections in two phases on November 13 and 20, with vote counting scheduled for November 23. (ANI)
