Akhilesh Yadav attacking PM Modi only to distract people: BJP

Lucknow, (Uttar Pradesh) [India] Feb. 15 (ANI): Hitting back at the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister for coming down on Prime Minister Narendra Modi for questioning him over the development in the politically crucial state, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday said that Akhilesh Yadav's attacks are only meant to distract the public. "Uttar Pradesh public is confused as from which Metro station they can get the tickets. You (Akhilesh Yadav) have introduced this facility so therefore it is your responsibility to help them out. By constructing half way roads, he is asking for votes. His allegations on the Prime Minister Modi are only to lead the public astray," BJP leader Harish Shrivastav told ANI. He added saying the reality is that the Samajwadi Party is not able to perform well. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has done so much for the development of this country. Akhilesh Yadav on Tuesday took a dig at Prime Minister Modi for questioning the development work in the politically crucial state, while appealing the public to help the Samajwadi Party win the elections. "They are questioning our work and saying that we haven't done and development work here. Prime Minister Modi has raised question over metro service in Uttar Pradesh. I would like to ask him in which metro he wants to commute first, Ghaziabad, Noida or Lucknow?" Akhilesh said while addressing a rally in Hardoi. Prime Minister Modi on Monday mocked the "kaam bolta hai" campaign of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav saying that Akhilesh had been fooling people of Uttar Pradesh and has little work to show. "I am going to Lucknow. I invite Akhilesh Yadav to take a ride with me in the Lucknow Metro. Let's see if it runs," the Prime Minister said during an election rally in Lakhimpur Kheri. Akhilesh had inaugurated Lucknow Metro with much fanfare ahead of the Assembly elections recently. Prime Minister Modi said that Akhilesh didn't invite any Central leader to take all the credit for the Metro project by himself, even at the project had received funds from the Centre. Highlighting the infrastructure and road construction work in the state, Akhilesh hit back at the Prime Minister saying that the latter must walk on the roads that they have constructed. Prime Minister Modi taunted the newly-formed alliance between the Samajwadi Party and Congress while stating that nothing can redeem their past misdeeds. The campaigning for the second phase of the politically crucial Uttar Pradesh assembly elections will come to an end this evening in 67 constituencies spread over 11 districts. Polling in these constituencies will be held on February 15. (ANI)
