Air France confirms presence of radioactive substance at IGI airport
New Delhi [India], Oct. 9 (ANI): Hours after a radioactive material leak was reported from the Air France cargo at Terminal 3 of the Indira Gandhi International Airport, the air carrier company on Sunday confirmed the presence of radioactive substance, saying the leakage did not report any anomaly. "Air France confirms that the shipment of radioactive medical material on flight AF226 operated by an A330 from Paris CDG to New Delhi, on 8 October 2016, did not reveal any anomaly. After several controls by the relevant authorities, including Indian's independent Nuclear Energy authorities, at its arrival at the New Delhi airport its acceptation has been confirmed compliant. The transport of this type of material is subject to strict rules and carried out in accordance with the international regulations. Air France reminds that the security of its customers and crews is its top priority," the air carrier company said in its official statement. Earlier today, an alert was sounded after a leak from the aircraft was reported, followed by immediate evacuation of the area. Seven fire tenders were rushed to the spot and the area was cordoned off. Teams from the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) and the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) were also at the site. A quick examination was carried out to ascertain the contents of the spill. (ANI)

“Govt must clarify LPG reserves, supply timelines to public

I believe the government is having talks; the people of this nation also need to be told about the current situation.
