Agartala: People welcome 2017 expecting to enjoy the fruit of demonetisation

Agartala (Guwahati) [India], Jan 1 (ANI): On the eve of New Year celebrations, most people in Agartala hoped that the coming year will bring along with it a lot of changes in India and for its good.

Agartala (Guwahati) [India], Jan 1 (ANI): On the eve of New Year celebrations, most people in Agartala hoped that the coming year will bring along with it a lot of changes in India and for its good. They asserted that demonetisation was the biggest event during 2016 and 2017 shall be a new era for India moving from a developing to a developed nation. Young, old, students and people from various walks of life expressed that there was suffering due to the demonetisation measure, but at the same time, they felt that the pain is temporary and is necessary for a greater good which is waiting in the coming year. Tanoy Datta a skill developer said, "We have seen in our country things have come pretty well where our honourable Prime Minister have done lot of things for the country. He has come up with lot of different schemes which can help the youths as well as the underprivileged part of the society; in fact one of the biggest news that was done was demonetisation." "It has created lot of rattle in places which was not expected. So these things have been quite good and it was balance and for me personally I should say this was a good year but we expect that the next should be good. So what I can only say is that tomorrow morning should be the first days of the rest of your life. So you should live it well, you should breathe well and you should be happy, stay happy and make sure the world stay in peace, love and harmony," he added. Adding to him, Subhrangshu Choudhury, a banker, who had to work more hours to give better service to people due to demonetisation said, "Hope everyone will be happy, live safely, everything will be good and everything going down cool and normal. So these things are for our betterment right so we have to bear this pain for our betterment and hopefully next year good new things will come. We have to bear it for our betterment." Meantime, Diptanil Das, a third semester engineering student expressed, "Hope this new year is very great for everyone. Obviously demonetisation is killing us but it's for a greater good and I think that New Year brings lot of new things in your life and it's really great." Another student, Hansakali Chakraborty, who hoped that there will be peace and happiness in the coming year said: "On the New Year I expect that I and everyone live happily. Let people enjoy life with new things being introduced in India. You can see people enjoying here on the New Year eve. We youngsters are enjoying along the elders, brothers, sisters, uncles and aunts together. I hope everyone enjoys life with peace and happily." In similar tone, Umasankar Roy, a lecturer said: "This year which is getting over India did well in sports and hope that if we follow the path of truth then India will do better in various fields like science, sports, literacy and others."
