Agartala gearing up to welcome Amit Shah
Agartala (Tripura) [India], May 5 (ANI): Agartala is gearing up to welcome Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Amit Shah who will be visiting Left Front-ruled state on May 6. The city which during the last two decades, majority times, have witnessed red flag of Communist parties is now being decorated with the BJP's bicolour flags with the lotus at the centre. Beside flag and festoon, large size cutouts and flex of BJP national leaders are being installed throughout the capital city. During his two-day visit, Shah will prepare a roadmap on how to win the next assembly elections, due in the first half of 2018. The BJP president will hold a series of meetings with the party's state unit president, senior party leaders and senior tribal leaders of the state. After the meetings, the party president is expected to prepare a roadmap on how to oust the Marxist government in Tripura which has been in the power since 1993. At the meetings, the senior party leaders will make a presentation of the party's performance in the last assembly and Lok Sabha elections in the state. On May 7, Shah will leave for Kumarghat in Unakoti district to address a party rally. BJP state observer Sunil Deodhar said, "We are expecting around 30,000 party workers from three districts in general to listen to Shah at Kumarghat." The BJP chief will visit all states by September-end as part of his campaign to strengthen the party as it readies for another round of assembly polls and the Lok Sabha elections in 2019. (ANI)
