After winning floor test we will win people's hearts: JD(U)
Patna (Bihar)[India], July 28 (ANI): The Janata Dal (United) on Friday expressed happiness over Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's victory in floor test and said it was a victory against those who tried to rule in the name of corruption and greed. "It is a debacle of those who were trying to rule in the name of corruption and greed. The truth has won and arrogant people have failed. We only wanted clarification on disproportionate income. We got people's mandate for good governance. We have cleared the floor test and now will win people's trust," JD (U) leader K.C. Tyagi told ANI. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) also rejoiced Nitish's victory and said Bihar will now be free from corruption and hooliganism. "Everyone supported us and NDA was intact completely. This is new morning for Bihar which is a positive sign. Now development will take place. Now under Prime Minister Modi supervision Bihar will go far. Now progress will be made. Now corruption free government will be there. There is no place of hooliganism in politics and democracy," BJP leader Ashwini Choubey told ANI. Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar won the floor test with 131 of the 243 legislators voting for him. At least 108 MLAs voted against the motion. Meanwhile, the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) broke out in protests outside the Assembly in protest. The assembly also witnessed heated argument between Tejashwi and Nitish. Venting out his anger against Nitish Kumar earlier in the special session, Tejashwi asked him that did he not feel ashamed sitting next to Sushil Modi. Nitish also hit back at Tejashwi and said he would not support one who indulges in corruption and accumulates income through wrong means. "We were given a mandate to work. We tried to overcome all the problems by respecting the 'Mahagatbandhan'. You (Tejashwi) were not clarifying on the corruption charges. I had only asked your explanation. This government will work and serve the people of Bihar. We will not tolerate corruption and injustice. Secularism is not to hide your corruption and wrongdoings. We will not support the one who will accumulate income through wrong means," Nitish said. The Chief Minister was facing vote of confidence in the Bihar Legislative Assembly, to prove his majority to form the state government.(ANI)
