Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) [India], November 1 (ANI): Without taking the name of his party leader, Akhilesh Yadav, Samajwadi Party MLC Rajpal Kashyap on Wednesday said that after the 2024 Lok Sabha elections a farmer's son will hoist the Tricolour at Red Fort in the national capital on the occasion of Independence Day celebrations.
The Samajwadi Party MLC said that in next year's general elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will be unseated.
"In 2024, BJP will be wiped out and the farmer's son will hoist the flag at the Red Fort in Delhi," the Samajwadi Party leader told reporters here.
This is not the first time, the SP is portraying Yadav as a Prime Ministerial Candidate for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
Last month, several posters portraying the SP chief as the "future Prime Minister" were put up outside the party headquarters in Lucknow.
Later, Yadav in quick response to his hoardings, plastered by party workers, said that merely putting up posters does not make a person Prime Minister.
Speaking to ANI, Akhilesh Yadav said," Anyone can put anyone's poster but that does not mean he can become PM. No one is going to become the Prime Minister just by putting up posters." (ANI)
